(not) to be continued

On 9 LCD screens one can see a broken-down image of pouring liquid – blood. One can also see a drowning personage. The image looks as if it was frozen in nine ice blocks. On two LED boards there appear the words never and always juxtaposed with the words later, now, today, tomorrow.

NTBC (not) to be continued? The attempt to diagnose the non-linearity of the passage of time (the breakdown of one image into 9), its relativity, but also irrevocability of events – without the possibility of appeal. Despite the attempts to capture the moment, stopping the image, the memory oftentimes remains a cold ice block. But the time has thickened and changed its state.

NTBC nevertheless to be continued...the title can be read also this way... or, in a completely different way.

picture and image

Picture and image is a video installation which touches upon the problem of a picture – its realation towards the worlds and the uncertain possibility of its description in satysfactory way. The motion of a picture has lost its present meaning, or has come off the plane and then it has become ubiquitons. One may say it has been seularized. The huge number of pictures of pictures of pictures... this number has increased in a geomatrical order. Consequently, the subject of a picture has disappeared. The image ascribed to the illustration process becomes a picture itself whereas the picture become an image. The picture of a video film, the picture of equipment, the picture of the whole – the picture of picture. The picture and the image haggle with each other; the fatigue and the boredom result in an argument on the picture? or the image?. The self-satisfying process has lost its justification – having been sterilized it remains for itself only.

greentrix

The Greentrix project draws on the virtual, digitally generated reality (greentrix - matrix). The human, connected at their own wish to technological interfaces loses contact with nature. The ideas of returning there seem a utopia. As one watches the progressive destruction of the blue planet by the most aggressive and rapacious being, the human, one cannot help the impression that reclamation of the Amazonian rainforests or the polluted river deltas is not feasible anymore. I fear that soon the immaculate greenery will become only a virtual domain we may move upon, as in a computer game, without gravity and feeling omnipotent, yet always being outside of it. Greentix is a cube that a viewer may enter. The cube whose 4 walls are synchronised, interactive projections which create the impression of being on the move.
